Meet Omy, your DJ at every booking.

Hi, I'm Omy, an open format DJ from Puerto Rico, based in Jacksonville, Florida.

I founded Really Good Events, and I personally DJ every booking. Every couple is welcome here.

I want the people at an event to be at the center, not me. I plan the music with you and adapt the set to the room.

How I got here

The short version.

I started DJing because I was scouted. I always shared playlists, and a DJ volunteered to show me how while I was in college.

I bring professionalism and the ability to adapt to different crowds, cultures and vibes. I enjoy weddings because of all the different kinds of music I get to play, since there is often a very wide range of ages in the room.

I love getting to know couples and learning the stories behind the songs and moments that matter to them.

How I work

What I hold to.

  1. The floor tells you what to play

    A prepared setlist is a starting point, not a plan. I watch who is dancing, who just sat down, and who is hovering at the edge, and I move accordingly.

  2. Your music, planned together

    Tell me which songs matter to you and which ones to skip. Those choices shape the set.

  3. Your guests stay at the center

    I keep the music focused on the room, without forced participation or distracting effects.

  4. Latin and open-format music

    I mix the songs you bring me with live choices that fit the crowd.

  5. Everyone in the room is welcome

    A female DJ and an LGBTQ+ friendly service. Both partners are welcome in the music-planning conversation.

What arrives

Before the doors open

Set up ninety minutes early.

Cabled, levelled and soundchecked before your first guest walks in. Backup gear on site, not in a van across town.
